Converting a lead into a transaction
The handoff is the whole point of having the CRM and transaction coordination in one product: when a lead signs, one click turns them into a transaction — no retyping, on the day you have the least time for it.
Converting a lead
- Open the lead and click Convert to deal.
- Confirm the details — the lead's name, contact information, and side (buyer or seller) carry over.
- The new transaction appears in Forms & Contracts with the client already attached. Deadlines, documents, and compliance run there from day one.
The lead is marked converted and leaves your pipeline. Its history stays on record, linked to the transaction it became, and any running Action Plan completes automatically.
Archiving the ones that don't convert
Not every lead becomes a client. Archive a lead when the relationship has ended — it leaves the pipeline and every Smart List, but nothing is destroyed and you can find it again later.
Deleting for good
A lead is a member of the public, and their information is theirs. If someone asks to be removed — or you want the record gone — archive the lead first, then use Delete permanently on the archived lead.
Warning: Permanent deletion is irreversible. There is no trash to restore from — that's the point of the feature.
Archived leads that are never touched again are also cleaned up automatically after 24 months, so old prospect data doesn't accumulate forever. Active leads are never auto-deleted.
FAQ
Does converting a lead cost one of my transaction slots?
A converted lead becomes a normal transaction, subject to whatever plan you are on — the same as creating that transaction any other way.
Can I undo a conversion?
The transaction can be deleted like any other, and the lead's history remains on record. There is no one-click "un-convert", so confirm the details on the convert screen before finishing.
